The factory transmission oil cooler for the Wrangler (JL) & Gladiator (JT) is definitely undersized and just enough for daily driving. Add in modifications like oversized tires, roof racks, etc, the transmission starts to get too hot. The CSF transmission oil cooler is a must have for any type of serious off-roading offering: 34% Larger Core Volume and 68% more Fluid Volume than the factory cooler, Dual Pass Core vs factory single pass design, Double the number of cooling tubes and fin rows compared to factory, Perfect for daily driving, overlanding, and off-road adventures.

When transmission fluid overheats, performance suffers and long-term damage becomes more likely. The Wrangler (JL) & Gladiator (JT) often see transmission temperatures of over 250 deg F while hauling and off-roading. While many owners haven't observed immediate damage, the longer term repercussions are always a reduction in transmission life. On top of that, having to stop and wait for your transmission to cool down is more than just an inconvenience, it is a limitation that shouldn't exist in a Wrangler.

The CSF #8344 Cooling product is designed to be a "Drop-In Fit" application. The product will install in the OEM Location with no modifications necessary unless otherwise noted or instructions are included in the product package. Please see the manufacturer repair manual for standard installation instructions. If you do not feel confident installing this product CSF recommends taking it to a qualified installation facility.
