The original OE oil cooler from BMW is an all metal design which would make you think it would be fairly robust. However, there are several weak spots in the design that make it far less durable than it could be. The CSF design resolves these issues with more robust materials and reinforcing weak points. At first glance, the original BMW OE oil cooler appears solid due to its all-metal construction. However, design weaknesses make it far less durable than expected. CSF tackled these flaws by using stronger materials and reinforced engineering to create a superior replacement:

CNC-Machined Connection Blocks - TIG-welded for extreme durability, ensuring they withstand any abuse. Upgraded Core Design - Swaps the fragile Tube & Fin core for a heavy-duty Bar & Plate core, making it far more impact-resistant in case of a front-end scrape or bottom-out. 33% Larger Core - Features three additional rows of oil cooling and a thicker 60mm core (vs. OEM 45mm core) for improved heat dissipation. TIG-Welded End Tanks - Stronger and more durable than the factory's brazed construction, reducing the risk of leaks.
